CrossComITS

The CrossComITS research project seeks to train users from vulnerable target groups to become security mediators through a train-the-trainers concept based on technical courses, and thus to serve as contact persons for IT security in the community. Furthermore, the project takes special account of the needs of vulnerable individuals through empirical studies and participatory design and translates them into scenarios distributed on a social platform. These scenarios may be used by the security mediators for both online and offline offers on the platform as well as being adapted, revised and expanded. In this way, CrossComITS helps build a community. Overall, CrossComITS generates significant added value for strengthening the personal IT security of vulnerable citizens by combining an innovative technical solution with a precise understanding of its target group-specific design for vulnerable users. CrossComITS is also designed to be scalable and adaptable to other target groups in order to help different groups strengthen their personal IT security.
